Blue Ash ranked best place to live in Ohio
Community also ranked among the best in the nation
The Cincinnati suburb of Blue Ash is ranked the best place to live in Ohio, according to a list of communities released this year by Niche, a national ranking and review service.
The top nod went to the community because of its overall livability based on quality of life indicators — good schools (including UC Blue Ash), crime rates, housing trends, employment and access to amenities.
Located in Hamilton County, Blue Ash has a population of 13,374 residents and offers a unique blend of small-town charm, top-rated amenities, major employers, and big-city access, only a short drive from Cincinnati.
Local 12 News also reported that Blue Ash was also ranked by Niche among the top 20 best suburbs to live in the country; it came in at No. 17 nationally and was Ohio’s only representation.

The community attracts a mix of young professionals and retirees who enjoy the area’s vibrant bars, restaurants, coffee shops and recreational areas. The 130-acre Summit Park is considered a community hub.
Blue Ash is also home to over 2,500 of the most successful companies in the region and around the globe, making it the largest suburban office market in Greater Cincinnati.
UC Blue Ash, a regional campus for the University of Cincinnati, is also an important contributor for favorable quality of life for the city and region.
It offers one of the best values in higher education with access to a nationally recognized UC education in more than 50 degree and certificate programs, as well as tuition that is about half of most colleges and universities. The college is located on a scenic 135-acre wooded campus in the heart of Blue Ash.
UC Blue Ash enjoyed four years of growth increasing 7.3% this fall to 4,891 students. And UC has marked record enrollment with 53,682 students this fall.

App turns smartwatch into detector of structural heart disease

An app that uses an AI model to read a single-lead ECG from a smartwatch can detect structural heart disease, researchers reported at the 2025 Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association. Although the technology requires further validation, researchers said it could help improve the identification of patients with heart failure, valvular conditions and left ventricular hypertrophy before they become symptomatic, which could improve the prognosis for people with these conditions.
