New members appointed to UC Law Dean’s Advisory Board

The Honorable Kari Bloom ‘11, Lisa Kathumbi ‘06, Paula Boggs Muething ‘03, and Raul Rosado ‘88 have been appointed to the Dean’s Advisory Board, announced Verna Williams, dean and Nippert Professor of Law at the UC College of Law.

The Dean’s Advisory Board offers advice, support and guidance to the College of Law, channeling the diverse professional experiences of the group in order to help steer the College’s future. The board meets several times during the year to discuss the law school’s future, receive updates on programs, and discuss other topics.

“The Dean’s Advisory Board has been integral in my tenure as dean,” said Dean Williams. “Each member is deeply accomplished in their own right; I’m grateful for their willingness to serve in this capacity, as well as for their continued engagement with the College.”

The Honorable Kari Bloom ‘11 serves on the Hamilton County Juvenile Court. Prior to her election in 2020, Judge Bloom was a contract negotiator for the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and an attorney in the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office. She also has served as a legislative liaison and parole attorney for the Office of the Ohio Public Defender. 

Lisa Kathumbi ‘06 is a shareholder at Littler in Columbus, Ohio, where she represents and counsels employers, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies, across jurisdictions in a broad range of labor and employment matters arising under federal and state law. Kathumbi has served on the board of several nonprofits and bar associations, including the Ohio Women’s Bar Association to which she was elected and served as President from 2016-2017.

Paula Boggs Muething ‘03 recently was named Vice President of Legal Affairs for FC Cincinnati after serving as City Manager and City Solicitor for Cincinnati.  She also was General Counsel and Vice-President of Community Revitalization for Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, where she assisted in redevelopment initiatives, including operating the Hamilton County Land Reutilization Corporation (“Land Bank”) on behalf of the Land Bank Board.

Raul Rosado ‘88 is Vice President and General Counsel International Business at Formica Group. He has extensive experience in compliance affairs, having run his own consulting firm, as well as serving as General Counsel at Cognis Corporation prior to joining Formica. Rosado also serves on the College’s International Advisory Counsel.
