Pharmacy alumna Christy Barr hosts dinner with Bearcats
The Dinner With Bearcats program, coordinated by the UC Alumni Association, provides UC alumni with the opportunity to host UC students or fellow UC alumni for an evening of networking and socializing.
James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy alumna and Board of Directors member Christy Barr ’97, ’00, ’16, hosted a Dinner With Bearcats for current pharmacy students and a few colleagues at Jag’s Steak and Seafood in West Chester on Jan. 31. Christy led the conversation by discussing her career and Genoa Healthcare, where she is vice president of central pharmacy operations. “It was a very enjoyable evening,” said Christy. “The students were wonderful. It was great to discuss the students’ potential paths and provide insight into my career.”
Conversation was continuous for three hours as the students sought advice on strategies for choosing rotations and discovering options in the industry that best fit their interests leading to graduation. “It was one of the most memorable experiences during my time at UC so far,” said third-year student Jared Justice. “It was interesting to hear the perspective of practicing pharmacists and was an awesome opportunity to network.”
