Holman Motors Donates Van to UC Clermont
Holman Motors recently donated a 2019 Ford Transit passenger van to UC Clermont College to support student travel. The 15-seat van will be used primarily for athletics and student activities. The donation will positively impact athletes and expand student experiences.
UC Clermont previously had to rent vehicles for student athletes to travel to away games or for any sort of student-related functions off campus.
“This project was the perfect fit for Holman Motors, we are proud to provide transportation for students at UC Clermont," said Greg Holman, President of Holman Motors Inc. "After meeting with Dana Parker, director of development and hearing about the challenges that the college had, I knew we wanted to participate and help.”
“This van will offer students an opportunity to expand their educational opportunities beyond campus — field trips, career-oriented activities, conferences and workshops, professional development,” said Senior Director of Student Affairs and Services Jenn Radt.
“We are so thankful for this donation," said UC Clermont’s Athletic Director Brian Sullivan. "The van has allowed us to reduce our travel cost by eliminating a van rental for each road trip. Travel is the largest cost from our athletic budget, and the van allows us to use the money in additional ways.”
Students will ride in style, as the van is branded with the UC Clermont College and Clermont Cougars logos and colors. “It’s nice to arrive at our away games in a van that has our school name on it,” said Lauren Carter, freshman soccer and basketball player.
UC Clermont’s athletic teams include women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball. The UC Clermont Cougars participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The Cougars have been successful in bringing home national championship titles in men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and women’s soccer. In addition, the volleyball and softball programs have been ranked nationally and have been highly competitive in national tournament play.
