The Columbus Dispatch: So who shined in Tuesday’s Democratic debate in Ohio?
UC political scientist David Niven weighed in on how Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren fared in Tuesday's presidential debate
Democratic hopefuls faced off Tuesday during the Democratic Presidential Debate at the Otterbein University Rike Center in Westerville. The Columbus Dispatch posed the question to political science experts, including University of Cincinnati political scientist David Niven: “Did new frontrunner Elizabeth Warren handle the heat from the other presidential wannabes, or did her debate performance allow other candidates to grab the spotlight?”
Niven, an associate professor of political science, said the Massachusetts senator performed well. “You have to beat the champion to take the crown, and in that sense Elizabeth Warren came into this debate on top and and she left it on top,” he said.
