WCPO: Groundbreaking HIV research taking place at UC
Research could lead to finding an HIV cure
WCPO-TV interviewed Carl Fichtenbaum, MD, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine at the UC College of Medicine about the TRAILBLAZER study. Dr. Fichtenbaum is collaborating with researchers at Case Western Reserve University and the University of California-San Francisco using a gene-editing technology called zinc finger nucleases. This pilot study could lead to discovering a cure for HIV.
