Lindner Career Services advisor awarded scholarship
National Board for Certified Counselors recognizes Keith Sun for his quality career guidance and facilitation.
Keith Sun, an assistant director for Lindner Career Services Center at the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, was recently awarded a 2018 Global Career Development Scholarship by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Sun will receive $1,000 to cover the cost of a future Global Career Development Facilitator training.
The goal of the scholarship program is to increase the number of available counselors providing quality career guidance and facilitation. With his counseling background and current certification as a National Certified Counselor, Sun possessed eligibility for the Global Career Development Facilitator scholarship provided by the National Board of Certified Counselors Foundation. The scholarship enables Sun to pursue further training in career development competencies such as career assessments, labor market trends, job search strategies, career services program design and implementation, and career counseling ethics.
Upon fulfilling this training, Sun will be certified as a Global Career Development Facilitator, a highly-recognized credential in the career services field. He hopes to use this training to enhance both his individual career coaching competencies as well as the programs and services offered to business students by Lindner Career Services Center.
Sun earned a bachelor of science degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior at the University of California, Davis. He also obtained a master of arts in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University. Sun assumed his current position with Lindner Career Services after finishing his graduate studies in 2017.
Sun leads and coordinates the employer relations efforts of the Lindner Career Services staff. Additionally, he offers career coaching to business students and instructs the Career Success Strategies undergraduate course. Sun primarily advises undergraduate students majoring in finance, international business, and insurance and risk management.
