Innovation Fair brings startups to UC on Mar. 7
UC students can explore job opportunities with up to 30 local startup companies
The University of Cincinnati is bringing up to 30 local startup companies to campus. The Next Lives Here: Innovation Fair will allow UC students to explore cooperative education (co-op) opportunities within Cincinnati’s diverse community of startup businesses.
The fair, which is hosted by UC Student Government, will take place Thursday, Mar. 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 1819 Innovation Hub. The three-hour event includes a key note speech, a student panel, networking opportunities and free food. Students of all disciples are encouraged to attend.
“We often hear that people like the startup community, and that they like co-oping there,” says Logan Lindsay, College of Engineering and Applied Science student senator. “We just really want to create that relationship between us and the Cincy startup world.”
In addition to exposing students to employment opportunities, the event allows smaller companies to start conversations with current students. Lindsay hopes the fair will incubate ideas and bring together the local startup community and university students.
Registration is free for companies, but companies can also choose to sponsor the event for $200. Any profits earned from the event will go toward scholarships for current UC students. For more information or to register, visit the Innovation Fair homepage.
