UC Blue Ash to host 4th Annual Community Dental Day
The UC Blue Ash dental hygiene program is again teaming up with local dentists to provide free dental care to the public on March 1
For the fourth consecutive year, the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is offering free dental care to the public.
The 4th Annual UC Blue Ash Community Dental Day is on Friday, March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Dental Hygiene Clinic on the UC Blue Ash College campus (9555 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236). Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m.
To accommodate as many patients as possible, each person will receive one free service during Community Dental Day, choosing from fillings, extractions, or teeth cleanings. The event is open to adults ages 18 and older. There are some health conditions that will prevent patients from being treated at the clinic, to see the complete list go to www.ucblueash.edu/dentalday.
The goal of Community Dental Day at UC Blue Ash is to provide access to dental care for those who do not have dental insurance or who have never been to a dentist.
Ten local dentists and countless dental professionals, including students and alumni of the dental hygiene program at UC Blue Ash, are generously donating their time to make the event possible. The Dental Care Plus Group and the Maxwell C. Weaver Foundation are serving as the presenting sponsors for this important community event.
“Good oral health helps support your overall health, so having access to quality dental care can have such a big impact on our quality of life,” says Biz McClure, the dental hygiene program director at UC Blue Ash. “We are proud to again offer this free service to the public and we’re extremely grateful to our sponsors and all of the local dental care professionals who generously donate their time to help some of the most underserved portions of our population.”
The UC Blue Ash College Dental Hygiene Clinic offers preventative dental care, including teeth cleanings, at a discounted rate to the community throughout the school year (September – April). It’s a great way for dental hygiene students to gain valuable experience treating patients as part of their education.
