UC Staff Senate to hold information sessions

Staff enrichment is a key pathway within the University of Cincinnati's Next Lives Here strategic direction. The new Staff Senate serves the university by promoting, protecting and representing the interests and perspectives of all university staff.
UC Staff Senate serves as an advisory body to the president and university leadership. The purpose is to provide service to staff through advocacy, education and appreciation.
Staff Senate endeavors to have representative and diverse members reflecting UC's many constituent groups across various colleges, divisions and departments.
All benefits-eligible employees, exempt and non-exempt, both full and part-time, who are not principally charged with teaching, are eligible to become members of the Staff Senate.
Key dates for fiscal year 2019:
- March 15-April 5, 2019 - nomination requests
- May 6-17, 2019 - online balloting
- June 2019 - new senators announced
- July 2019 - new term begins

Although the technology requires further validation, researchers said it could help improve the identification of patients with heart failure, valvular conditions and left ventricular hypertrophy before they become symptomatic, which could improve the prognosis for people with these conditions.

MSN highlighted research led by the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center's Trisha Wise-Draper showing a combination of immunotherapy medications can activate a robust immune response and help overcome treatment resistance in patients with refractory melanoma.
