2018-19 UC Clermont Poetry Series kicks off
Author Rhonda Pettit will visit campus Sept. 19
The UC Clermont 2018-19 Poetry Series will welcome its first of four authors to the college’s Batavia campus during the academic year on Sept. 19th.
Rhonda Pettit is a poet, English professor and editor of the Blue Ash Review at UC Blue Ash College. Her poetry volumes include “Riding the Wave Train,” “Fetal Waters,” and “The Global Lovers,” a poetic drama that premiered at the 2010 Cincinnati Fringe Festival. Her literary criticism includes two books on the work of Dorothy Parker: “A Gendered Collision” and “The Critical Waltz.”
“The UC Clermont Poetry Series has been bringing local and national poets to the college for more than 10 years to read from their work, talk with audiences and conduct masterclasses,” said Phoebe Reeves, associate professor of English. “We’re excited this fall to be bringing several wonderful local poets to campus to share their work with our students. Cincinnati is lucky to have such a deep array of poetic talent in its communities.”
Pettit will be on hand on Sept. 19th for a Q&A with the Author and Writing Workshop at 11:15 a.m. in the Student Services building, room 240, followed by a reading, book signing and reception at 1:25 p.m. in the UC Clermont Park National Bank Art Gallery.
