Queen City Clay on display at UC Clermont
Local ceramic studio’s exhibit opens April 1; reception on campus April 12
Artists from Cincinnati-based Queen City Clay will display their work in a new exhibit, “Eighteen Years in Service,” April 1-June 27 in the University of Cincinnati Clermont College Art Gallery.
The artists also will be on hand for a reception Friday, April 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All UC Clermont Art Gallery events are free and open to the public.
Participating artists Ben Clark, Beth Suellentrop, Jon Stein and Chrissy Trout have been working together at Norwood’s Queen City Clay since 2005. Each of the artists maintains their own unique studio practice in addition to their collective effort in running one of the largest public ceramic studios in the United States.
Queen City Clay strongly connects to the region through education and public events. The studio houses a teaching studio, exhibition gallery, warehouse, retail shop, pottery-painting studio, kids art program, business co-op, artist-in-residence program, slip-casting business and rental space for creative companies and individuals.
The UC Clermont Art Gallery is in the Snyder building on the college’s campus at 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia, Ohio. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., or by appointment. Learn more at ucclermont.edu/community-arts.

Building Design: 27 interesting innovations and prototypes from the Venice Biennale

University of Cincinnati architecture students and faculty were featured in Building Design for their installation “INOSCULAE,” exhibited at the 2025 Venice Biennale. The project, directed by DAAP associate professor Christoph Klemmt, was recognized by journalist Mary Richardson as one of the top 27 global innovations in sustainable design.
